Unspoken Words

Thought without words
Should never be read
And words without thought
Should never be said

Thoughts without passion
And meaningless words
They add up to nothing
So nothing is heard

Words could bring twosomes
Together at last
Or bring back the memories
Of thoughts in the past

Today and tomorrow
I'd wonder each day
Of things that could happen
By words I could say

Like thoughts of me asking
What took us so long
To get back together
And what went so wrong?

But You made it certain
We wouldn't be late
To find that the two of us
Were destined to fate

So I won't pretend
That my thoughts You just read
Were thoughts without words
And never were said

For when it happens
That I get in a bind
And need someone with me
You'll be first on my mind

And when You find out
That I've stared to fall
Lord lift me back up
And respond to my call
