In this last chapter of Hebrews we find Paul exhorting us to love one another, to remember to entertain strangers, to remember the prisoners and to remember those who rule over us.
He is reminding us of to be a true witness of our Faith in Christ by expressing our love in the way that we entertain strangers. Genesis 19:1-3.
We likewise see how we are to remember the prisoners, Colossians 4:18, as if you were chained with them. Notice this is one who is part of the body of Christ, a believer.
He also exhorts us who are married to honor our covenant with our wives, and to conduct ourselves without coveting, being content in our Faith. We need to live in our faith...not thinking of our current situations, not showing care to our position in today's life, but living in Faith, in the promise that we are finished in Christ Jesus. Live in Him, forsake earthly desires, He will not forsake us or leave us!
Lastly, we see how we are to remember those that rule over us, that would be our pastors that lead us, that teach us the Word of God.
Hebrews 13:1-7
1 Let brotherly love continue.
2 Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.
3 Remember the prisoners as if chained with them--those who are mistreated--since you yourselves are in the body also.
4 Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."
6 So we may boldly say: "The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"
7 Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct.
